He was extremely sore in his off hind, shoulders and poll. Milton had laminitic feet, poor hoof angles in his hinds and his regular stance was constantly camped under front and back to relieve the pressure on his heels and lower back. After regular body work, dietary changes and trimming, Milton showed improvement in his posture and increased soundness on his feet. However, after about 5 months of rehab he began head nodding and was not responding as well to his usual body worker. I then brought in Sietske to get a second opinion and see if she could discover a reason for his head nodding. Sietkse's first treatment used a combination of essential oils, acu-pressure, red light therapy and bowen. Milton responded incredibly well to this session. His movement freed up and his head nodding was reduced. We were able to pin point that the head nodding was more a stress response, rather than a specific soreness. After a follow up session using bowen, stretching and acu-pressure, Milton's head nodding has disappeared and his movement continues to improve. I have been impressed with Sietske's broad knowledge and use of the different body work modalities. She is able to work into a horse's sore points whilst maintaining the horse's trust and confidence. Jigsaw`s going well he has started cantering around the paddock again which we haven`t seen him do for a while. He is draging his feet less and is rolling a lot better than before. She is looking reasonable and cantering easily in the paddock when inclined to do so. I have only seen her windsuck once in the last 6 weeks or so and that was when I left her in the round yard for an hour or so for a nudie roll in the sand (her favourite thing) When I came out she was windsucking! All in all she seems sprightly and happy. From time to time she is still a little bit sensitive on sides of her neck up towards her poll, (but not quite her poll) however Grace rode her on the weekend and said she felt perfectly even and moved well. Not really been one for oils before but a blend of Young Living oils has cured my horses canker/thrush in the frogs of his back feet! I have chucked an arsenall of of pharmacology at this problem, treated it internally with steroids and externally with you name it and nothing has touched it. Thanks to you I finally found something that works.. He no longer walks toe heel, his back looks better as he is not in pain and the frog is healthy and growing.. Love love love these oils... Most of which we can ingest either in hot water or in a capsule.. Dont know of any other oils you can do that with :) Karlene" "My springer spaniel Bella has had a long and expensive history of ear infections and after the last lot of vet bills the next one meant euthanasia for my darling dog. All the vet treatments would no longer work and as she is elderly and also has Addison's Disease she was at the end of the road. I'd discussed briefly with Sietske using oils as a treatment months ago but had never followed up on it. Recently Bella's ears became infected again and were oozing gunk and very painful, but I still couldn't bring myself to put her down. So as a last ditch effort I contacted Sietske and she put my on to a blend of oils that have astounded me. Whilst the infection hasn't completely cleared it has certainly reduced and Bella is much more comfortable, smells better and the gunk is minimal. Even though Star was sore, he was the sweetest boy you would come across. We gave him lots of TLC, but he was not improving even though we ticked all the right boxes. That's when I found out about Equi Balance and booked Star a session with Sietske. First Session week 1 You could see all his soreness when Sietske gently put her hands to work all over his body. You could see very clearly when Sietske touched Star, where he was needing attention. Second Session week 2 Star improved slightly while Sietske worked on his body. Star started to gain weight. He was not a very playful horse in his paddock but 2 days after the second session Star was cantering around the olives trees playing…amazing. Third Session week 3 Star ended up falling asleep because he was feeling good. Star gained weight and was getting quite cheeky…feeling good. Fourth Session week 4 Star was not sore. He enjoyed the massage and knew to lean in the right places. Sietske showed me some hand techniques to use on Stars body.
